A generative video for the Enger Tower, by Kindohm.

Every visual element within this video was produced by algorithms: the footage itself was created in the Cyril livecoding environment, steered entirely by an autonomous livecoding “autorave” logic set based on tracery.js (originally created by Kate Compton for building sentences in human-readable English, now adapted to write code for Cyril).

From there, the clip selection and sequencing was laid out entirely algorithmically, with the machine choosing layers, in/out points and timings (based on a number of factors – activity rate, intensity, colour etc). A human operator (i.e. me) then mixed the video precisely to those instructions.
